CEA Perth Facility

Perth Airport, WA

Project overview

Purpose-built operational facility incorporating office, workshop and warehouse functions.

Birchmead delivered a purpose-built operational facility for CEA in Hazelmere, Western Australia. Constructed on a 1.9 hectare site, the development incorporates 4,054 m² of office, showroom, workshop and warehouse space together with substantial heavy-duty concrete and crushed rock hardstand areas.

The facility was designed specifically to support CEA’s equipment distribution and servicing operations, including efficient heavy vehicle access, twin gantry cranes for equipment handling and vertical lift machines for high density storage. Sustainability initiatives integrated into the project included low-carbon concrete, an 80 kWh solar PV system, a whole-of-building energy management system and wastewater recycling used for landscape irrigation.

The project was delivered during the COVID-19 period, when cost escalation and labour constraints required careful coordination between Birchmead, consultants and the construction contractor to maintain program and cost certainty.
